About Us
Fresh from our farm. blooming for you.
Hi, I'm Kate! Our family runs a small-scale farm in central Illinois, where my husband is the sixth generation to farm our land. as our farm continues to evolve and grow, we knew adding flowers would be a beautiful next chapter - one that brings color, joy, and connection to the land we love.
We have four kids who keep us incredibly busy with all of their activities - and who are also some of our best helpers (with a little convincing now and then). around here, farming is truly a family effort.
Before starting this journey, I spent many years working in the legal field and in sales. after welcoming our fourth child, we realized that season of life needed to shift. As our kids have gotten a little older, I began looking for something that would allow me to help contribute to our family while also leaning into my creative side. Flower Farming seemed like a perfect fit - meaningful, hands-on work that blends beauty with purpose.
we're so grateful you're here and can't wait to provide you with gorgeous, locally grown blooms.

Our Story
Growing blooms and joy.
At Birch & Bloom Flower Farm, our name carries deep meaning rooted in family, faith, and new beginnings. The birch tree has long been a favorite of ours and is a familiar and beloved sight in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula — a place that feels like home to our family. In the spring of 2025, after the passing of my father-in-law, our world felt shaken. In the U.P., when forest fires sweep through and leave destruction behind, one of the very first trees to grow back is the birch. It stands as a quiet symbol of resilience and renewal — life returning after loss. That image became deeply personal to us. Just as the birch rises again, this farm represents our own season of rebuilding, growth, and hope. Birch & Bloom is more than flowers — it’s a new chapter rooted in love, remembrance, and the beauty that can come after hardship.
